Cynthia Y. Thompson, MBA, SHRM-SCP, SPHR
Cynthia Y. Thompson is Principal and Founder of HR Professionals Magazine. She is a senior human resources executive with more than thirty years of human resources experience concentrated in publicly traded companies. HR Professionals Magazine is a national magazine distributed to HR professionals and SHRM members across the U.S. She is also an Approved Provider of SHRM and HRCI recertification credits.
Cynthia has an MBA and is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources by HRCI and is also certified as a SHRM-SCP. She also teaches Online SHRM and HRCI Certification Exam Prep Classes.
Cynthia was appointed by Governor Bill Haslam to the State of Tennessee Human Resources Board of Appeals in 2014. She is a recipient of the SHRM-Memphis HR Executive of the Year and received the SHRM-Memphis Lifetime Achievement Award in Human Resources. She is also a recipient of the Tennessee SHRM Professional Excellence Award and a recipient of the Tennessee Human Resource Management Excellence Award.
Cynthia is the 2006 Past President of SHRM-Memphis, and is the founder of the SHRM-Memphis Executive Roundtable.
Cynthia was recently named a Fellow of the Employer Provider Interface Council in recognition of her dedication to the improvement of healthcare. The goal of the council is to focus on the economics and real-world decision- making process in healthcare.
