Profile: Faith Stipanovich, SHRM Field Services Director

    Working from her home in Pittsburgh, PA, as a Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) Field Services Director, Faith is part of a team responsible for overseeing the fostering and promotion of SHRM membership, education programming, and certification, along with supporting SHRM volunteers across the US.  Much of Faith’s time working with SHRM volunteer leaders is spent in Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Tennessee, assisting them with focusing on advancing the human resources profession and creating better workplaces.

    Faith Stipanovich has over 30 years of HR experience working in private and public sectors, including working in both union and non-union environments.  Before joining SHRM as a Field Services Director, Faith was a Senior HR Business Partner for Matthews International, where she supported multiple business units across the Memorialization Division, primarily working with leaders in Bronze manufacturing, Funeral Products Distribution, and sales.  Prior to working at Matthews, she worked as a public servant for Allegheny County, managing the Payroll Department for over 7000 employees, and was part of the team responsible for implementing an HRIS and new payroll enterprise system.  Faith spent her early career working as a Paralegal at various law firms throughout the city of Pittsburgh.  It was during these early career days that Faith discovered her passion for employees and employment law.  

    She holds a master’s degree in Human Resource Management from LaRoche University, Pittsburgh, PA, and a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management from Geneva College, Beaver, PA.   Additionally, Faith is SHRM-SCP certified, and has earned the SHRM People Analytics Specialty Credential, SHRM Workplace Investigations Specialty Credential, SHRM Foundation Veterans at Work Certificate, and the Employing Abilities @Work Certificate.

    Prior to joining SHRM, she recently served as the Northeast SHRM MAC in 2019 and on the SHRM Labor Relations Expertise Panel.  She held multiple positions on the Pennsylvania State Council of SHRM, including the SHRM Foundation Chair, Nominating Committee Chair, District Director, Secretary, Deputy Director. She served two years as the State Director, supporting 26 Professional Chapters, 12 student chapters, and SHRM members across Pennsylvania. 

    She is a member and Past President of the Pittsburgh Human Resources Association (PHRA).  

    Faith has also been active in volunteering in her community.   She served four years as a School Board Director for Mt. Lebanon School District, the same school district that she attended kindergarten through high school.   Faith is a past board member and President of Transitional Services, Inc., an innovative human services organization transitioning people with mental disabilities (psychiatric and intellectual) into the community.   She recently served on the Board of Directors for the Pennsylvania Western Division of the American Cancer Society and the Center for Theater Arts in Mt. Lebanon, PA.
