May 2017 eBlast Column – Opportunities for SHRM and HRCI Recertification Credits

WOW! There are so many opportunities to earn SHRM and HRCI recertification credits during May. Here are a few of them.

On May 9th, the Memphis office of Ogletree Deakins will present a Complimentary Employment Law Breakfast Briefing at Fogelman Executive Conference Center & Hotel at the University of Memphis. Contact Christen Hill at christen.hill@ogletree.com to register. You will earn 2.00 SHRM and HRCI credits.

The 7th Annual WTSHRM HR and Employment Law Spring Conference will be in Jackson at the Union University Carl Grant Event Center on May 10. The Conference is in coordination with the Law Firm of Rainey, Kizer, Reviere & Bell, P.L.C. The theme is “Blast Off to Effective HR Solutions.” Attendees can earn 6.00 SHRM and HRCI credits.

You can earn 5.5 SHRM and HRCI credits at the Annual Fisher Phillips Labor & Employment Law Seminar at the Memphis Hilton on May 11. The seminar is in partnership with SHRM-Memphis. We are excited about the 2017 ALSHRM Conference in Birmingham! This will be our first time to bring you coverage from the Alabama SHRM State Conference. It will be May 16-17 and you can earn 10.25 SHRM and HRCI credits. The theme of the Conference is “HR Strikes Back.” You can register at www.alshrm.org. We will be visiting the Tuscaloosa SHRM Chapter on May 18. Then on to the St. Lucie HRA and Treasure Coast HRA Joint Conference in Fort Pierce, Florida on May 19. I will be speaking on “Strategic Leadership – the New Alpha.”  SHRM and HRCI credits are pending. Register here.

Attention MSSHRM members! The Mississippi Business Group on Health will host it’s annual Healthy Workplace, Health Community Conference on May 24 at the Marriott in Jackson. Click here to register. The Conference brings together the state’s leading companies, organizations, and policy makers to discuss ways to influence the health of the community through partnerships and collaboration.

Also, the Annual SHRM Conference will be in New Orleans June 18-21. I highly recommend that you register early and make your hotel reservations before the prime locations are sold out! I don’t have to tell you how much fun you will have in New Orleans. What a great venue! Be sure to visit one of Emeril Lagasse’s restaurants while you are in town. Schedule a Cajun cooking class while you are in town. It’s great fun!
